We recently partnered with KID’S INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES (KIM) to help with their orphanages in the Philippines.
KIM is one of the most exciting ministries I have ever encountered. God is doing exciting things through KIM that are going to greatly impact the locations where they serve and far beyond. They have made significant inroads into some of the most difficult settings for ministry.
Slums are some of the most difficult areas to minister simply because the needs are so great. The world’s large cities have millions and millions of impoverished people living at a subsistence level. They live in ramshackle, substandard housing, their children are uneducated and malnourished and the adults are without hope and resources. If you spend time in the world’s slums you quickly witness the brutality of poverty. It’s not just that these people are poor. Their poverty unleashes a brutality that leads to all forms of abuse, perversity, violence and degradation. It is humankind at its worst.
And children are the prime victims. The innocent and weak quickly become prey to whatever unspeakable horrors the desperate and depraved adults in their world choose to inflict upon them. In Malaybala, it’s common practice for radical groups to exploit orphans. They sell the girls into the child sex trade and use the money to fund their terror operations. They force the boys to become soldiers in their terrorist groups.
KIM has established the New Faith Family Children’s Home orphanage in Manila. Today they house over 40 children at a time. The home works with the State to place the children into families through adoption In Malaybala, KIM is now operating an orphanage that houses over 20 kids. These are kids who could have been subjected to horrible situations but are now being taught the Gospel, receiving an education, and being trained to be Christian leaders for the next generation. They also have a camping ministry that has the ability to house 300 kids a week where they share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them and give them the hope of God’s Word.
The staff at each of these orphanages cares for the children 24/7/365. We are raising money so the staff at each facility can take a break to spend time with their families.
