Q: Are there kid's services at all weekend service times?
A: Yes! From Nursery - Grade 6 have classes at all weekend services.
Q: Does RBfK ever cancel services or events becauseof inclimate weather?
A: No. As a rule, Rock Brook chruch and RBfK does not cancel services or events based upon weather.
Q: Does RBfK take an offering?
A: Yes we do. Giving to the church is a part of the overall / all of life worship experience. We also believe that the discipline to give is best and most easily taught at a young age. RBfK's entire offering goes to general giving of Rock Brook Church.
Q: When is promotion to the next class or grade?
A: The answer is in two parts. First, our Nursery is for children from birth to age 3. Following a child's third birthday, they are promoted to the Pre-K (pre-kindergarten) class. Please note: our Pre-K department is not equipped to change diapers and children coming into Pre-K will need to be potty-trained prior to enrollment in Pre-K.
The answer to second part of the promotion question is based upon the public school district's annual calendar. Promotion from a completed grade to the next grade takes place the weekend before the first day of school, usually mid-August. This promotion policy also includes promiton from RBfK to Rock Brook Youth Group (students moving up to grade 7).
Q: What is an EFS?
A: An EFS is an Event Fact Sheet. The EFS is the way RBfK communicates to parents about the events that take place not in the weekend service time stucture. The EFS includes all the information that parents need to know about the event. Event Fact Sheets are available at both RBfK Registration Desks and will be posted here on the website under Special Events.
Q: What is a 'Purpose Weekend'?
A: A 'purpose weekend' is when we rewiew one or more of the five puposes we have been given to fulfill. The five purposes are found in the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) texts in the Bible. Purpose Weekends are usually following the End of Curriculum Review / Party.
A: Purpose Weekends usually are accompanied with a practical hands-on project to reinforce the lesson.
Q: I see 'E of C' on the Annual Curriculum Plan. What does E of C stand for?
A: The E of C Party on the curriculum plan stands for End of Curriculum Party. Following a curriculum (usually 6-8 weeks) we host the E of C party. It serves as a celebration of completing a large and important task (the curriculum), it celebrates what we have learned, and It serves as a series review as we review the Lesson Sentences and Memory Verses from each week. Then of course we celebrate with special snacks! (Link to Annual Teaching Plan)
